What are the advantages and disadvantages of the direct spinning method and the indirect spinning method of polyester staple fiber?

Compared with the direct spinning method of polyester staple fiber, the indirect spinning method has different advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of direct spinning of polyester staple fiber:

① High degree of automation, stable process control, relatively fixed source of raw materials, uniform product quality;

②High production capacity, and omit the casting belt, the drying and melting process of the chip spinning in the chip spinning method, save energy, reduce energy, equipment and labor costs.

Disadvantages of polyester staple fiber: The product variety is relatively single, and it can only be produced with different cross-section fibers. Because the melt is directly polymerized, the modification of the melt must be completed by polymerization. Compared with the polymerization device with high productivity, the cost of each change of variety is higher; and to change the cross section of the fiber, you only need to increase enough Spinnerets with different cross-sections of the spinneret holes, and change the spinning and extension process.

Advantages of indirect spinning of polyester staple fiber:

①There are a wide range of raw materials, and recycled materials and regular materials can be used to meet the needs of different product varieties and customers;

②It is easy to realize product variety diversification. In addition to producing fibers of different cross-sections, different colors or (and) modified products can also be produced. Because indirect spinning adopts pelletizing and drying and then melt spinning, the modified masterbatch can be used during pelletizing and drying or before melting. It can be uniformly mixed with the cut pellets, or directly use the modified cut pellets for drying to prepare a colored or (and) modified polyester melt.

Disadvantages of indirect spinning of polyester staple fiber:

①Low production capacity and high processing cost. Because indirect spinning requires the pellets to be dried and then remelted, there are three more processes (pelletizing, drying, melting) than direct spinning, and the production capacity is low, the loss, energy, equipment, and labor costs will be much higher (the increase in labor is the most , About 100 times. The labor cost in the direct spinning factory is about 4-6 yuan/ton cotton, and the labor cost in the indirect spinning factory is 400-500 yuan/ton);

②Low degree of automation. Due to the low production capacity of indirect spinning, in order to reduce equipment costs, domestic equipment is generally used, and the degree of automation is generally low;

③Poor uniformity of product quality. Because the source of raw materials is not fixed, the stability of process control is poor, and the uniformity of the product quality obtained is relatively poor. In order to obtain more uniform product quality, it is necessary to improve the staff's operating skills and the stability of process control.
