Polypropylene staple fiber is a staple fiber made of polypropylene PP by melt spinning, drafting, crimping, heat setting and cutting.

According to the practice of continuous research on polypropylene staple fiber, it is found that the strength of pure spun polypropylene yarn is the highest, much higher than cotton, but it is not as high as pure cotton when blended with cotton. In this case, the reason of elongation of polypropylene should be taken into account, in order to reduce the elongation of polypropylene in polypropylene staple fiber.

1. Increase the stretch times, make polypropylene stretch as far as possible to pull foot, and make the stretch back to shrink, so as to do less spinning wool yarn breakage, cooling condition control is appropriate, oil-free wire molecular weight is not too large.

2. Control the shaping conditions, polypropylene after shaping, can reduce the elongation, should choose to crystallize the shaping temperature, the current selection of 120-130℃, if the bundle is too tidal, can also reach 135℃.

3. The temperature of superheated steam should be ensured to be above 135℃, which has certain benefits for normal stretching and reducing elongation.
