At the Council meeting of the China Textile Industry Federation held recently, the China Textile Federation officially issued the Action Outline for Building a Modern Textile Industry System 2022-2035, once again clarifying that green development is the top priority of the industry in the future. It is also an important measure to effectively supplement the supply of raw materials for China's textile industry and alleviate the constraints of resources and environment. Compared with waste materials such as waste paper, waste plastics, scrap steel and other waste materials, waste textiles have their particularity, including various natural fibers, and the composition is very complex, and the recycling difficulty is far more than the above materials. At present, the recycling rate of waste spinning produced in the production process of cotton spinning chemical fiber enterprises is higher, with more than 80% of the recycling rate. But only about 10% of the old textiles produced in the much larger consumer sector are recycled.

He said that the factors restricting the recycling of old textiles run through all aspects of production, consumption, recycling and regeneration. To solve these problems, all relevant parties need to make concerted efforts and work together.
