Features of PP staple fiber:

1. PP staple fiber density is small

Polypropylene is the relatively low density of all synthetic fibers, about 0.91g/cm3, so it is very light, and the fiber per unit weight can cover a large area.

2. PP staplet fiber has high strength

The strength of polypropylene is similar to that of high-strength polyester and nylon in synthetic fibers, but the strength hardly changes in the wet state, which is better than nylon.

3. PP short fibers are not only wear-resistant but also corrosion-resistant

The flat wear resistance of polypropylene is second only to that of nylon, but the flexural wear resistance is slightly worse. Corrosion resistance: Significant stability to inorganic acids and alkalis.

4. PP staple fibers hardly absorb moisture

Polypropylene almost does not absorb moisture, its moisture regain is less than 0.03%, the shrinkage of the fabric is small, and the fine denier polypropylene has a strong wicking effect.

5. PP staple fiber has very good electrical properties and warmth retention

Polypropylene has high resistivity (7×10Ω.cm) and low thermal conductivity. Compared with other chemical fibers, polypropylene has good electrical insulation and warmth retention, but it is easy to generate static electricity during processing.

6. PP staple fiber is resistant to aging

Polypropylene has a low melting point (165~173°C) and poor stability to light and heat. Therefore, polypropylene has poor heat resistance and aging resistance, and is not resistant to ironing. But the anti-aging performance can be improved by adding anti-aging agent during spinning.
