It selected the Chengdu Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum for an interview and report, fully showcasing the weaving techniques and industrial development of the national intangible cultural heritage of Shu brocade and Shu embroidery. The Chengdu Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum was built on the original site of the Chengdu Shu Brocade Factory. It is a great spirit and precious cultural heritage that was nurtured and formed during the industrialization process of Chengdu. This summer vacation, the Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum has witnessed a boom in visitors. This characteristic industrial tourism that combines Shu brocade and embroidery with tourism has been deeply loved by many people. From July 1st to August 11th, the number of visitors to the Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum has reached 82,000, an increase of nearly two times compared with the same period last year. Let's take a look at the full report of CCTV's "Focus Interview" program together.

The Chengdu Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum, hidden in a small alley in Qingyang District, Chengdu City, was built on the site of the former Chengdu Shu Brocade Factory and opened in 2009.

The weaving technique of Shu brocade and Shu embroidery are known as "treasures of Sichuan" and have both been included in the first batch of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum is the largest cultural inheritance base and research center for Shu brocade and embroidery in the country. It is also currently the only museum in the country dedicated to showcasing Shu brocade and traditional weaving techniques. With a 3,000-square-meter exhibition space, it is divided into six major sections: the origin of silk, Shu brocade of various dynasties, the history of embroidery, clothing of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the evolution of looms, and Shu brocade techniques. Showcase the grandeur of the thousand-year-old splendid culture.

The Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum houses 9,373 cultural relics, among which 48 are national-level precious cultural relics. A wide variety of exquisite clothing, Shu brocade patterns and Shu embroidery works are dazzling and overwhelming. The most spectacular part of the entire museum is the large-scale Shu brocade weaving workshop at its core. Cao Daiwu, a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage representative inheritor of Shu brocade, is leading his team to demonstrate the ancient weaving techniques to visitors in front of a small wooden loom from the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. This loom is 6 meters long, 5 meters high and 1.5 meters wide. The huge wooden "mecha" contrasts sharply with the fine silk threads on the machine. The two loom masters worked in perfect harmony and operated together, which enabled them to weave those splendid and dazzling Shu brocts.

The Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum has set up many interactive sections. In the Shu embroidery Skills Exhibition Hall, embroiderers sit in front of the embroidery stands, demonstrating the Shu embroidery needlework skills to the audience, such as splitting threads, laying stitches, calculating patterns, and embroidering, interpreting the essence of Eastern aesthetics with smooth and fluid movements.

This summer vacation, the Shu Brocade Weaving and Embroidery Museum has also launched a variety of hands-on activities such as weaving experience, Shu brocade sachets, and Shu embroidery folding fans, catering to the needs of participants of different ages and interests.
