The 2025 Academic Symposium on the Design and Manufacturing of Advanced Textile Composite Materials was recently held in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. This conference attracted over 130 representatives from the field of textile composite materials, including more than 20 renowned domestic universities such as Xiamen University, Chongqing University, and City University of Hong Kong, as well as research institutions like Xi 'an Institute of Aerospace Composite Materials and Institute of Air and Space Information, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Sun Yize, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at Donghua University, first pointed out that the rapid development of national strategic industries such as domestic large aircraft, new energy vehicles, and low-altitude economy has put forward higher requirements for high-performance textile composite materials and their design and manufacturing technologies. He emphasized that this conference should continue to focus on key scientific issues, promote interdisciplinary integration, and facilitate industrial upgrading and cutting-edge applications.
The conference report session was full of highlights. Professor Hu Ning from Hebei University of Technology, Professor Ye Lin from Southern University of Science and Technology, Researcher Liu Songping from AVIC Manufacturing Technology Research Institute/AVIC Composite Materials Technology Center, and Professor Wu Zhanjun from Jiangnan University delivered speeches titled "Hot Stamping Forming Process of Thermoplastic Two-Dimensional Woven Composites: This Building Mold and Simulation", "Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fiber Composites Based on Filament Fusion Printing", and "Object-oriented Reports on "Progress and Application of Visual Inspection and Intelligent Evaluation Technology" and "Health Monitoring and Digital Twin of Aerospace Composite Materials Structures".
In addition, the symposium also set up two sub-forums, namely "Performance Characterization and Structural Design of Textile Composites" and "Manufacturing and Monitoring Technology of Textile Composites", with a total of 18 special reports. The content covered multiple aspects such as basic research, application development and engineering practice in the field of textile composites, and showcased the latest research achievements in the industry in recent years. The precise focus and in-depth discussions at the sub-forums not only promoted the collision and integration of academic ideas, but also injected new impetus into the innovative development of China's textile composite materials industry.
